On the sound of the tone, top qualifier Michal Orlowski brought the field around the first lap and his car looked “spot on”. Marc Rheinard pushed hard to follow him but could not stay close to the tail of the Schumacher Mi9 in front of him. Ronald Völker had Bruno Coelho in his rear-view mirror, and Coelho himself was followed by Lauter as they entered lap three.
