WeiRC has further improved its popular steel chassis in 2026. The material is now even more durable, and all chassis have been given a black DLC coating. The screws remain the same – so they can also be used with the previous chassis!

WeiRC’s high-quality, DLC-coated steel chassis is THE tuning alternative for your Awesomatix A800RR touring car. The 1.2mm-thin chassis is heavier than a carbon fibre or aluminium chassis and lowers the vehicle’s centre of gravity significantly. Better handling and a ‘car that’s easier to drive’ can be the advantage of using a steel chassis. 

INFO: To use the chassis, you will need the matching screw set, which is also available from WeiRC (WEI-SCS-A800R).

With the A800RR, the chassis fits perfectly with the bulkheads from the A800RR kit. If you still have the predecessor A800R, you will definitely need the bulkheads from the Awesomatix Steel Chassis Conversion Kit, or generally bulkheads purchased in 2025 or later. The bulkheads from the first A800R kits do NOT fit the WeiRC steel chassis.
