The new SkyRC RSTW Pro Station heating blankets are covered with a silicone coating. This enables better contact between the heating blanket and the tire and makes the entire tire heating process more effective than before.
The SkyRC RSTW Pro tire heating blankets are the perfect companion on the racetrack. Reliable, compact and powerful are the three characteristics that best describe the heating blankets. The heating blankets have an inner diameter of approx. 65mm and are 31mm wide. You can heat almost any 1:10 on-road tire and thus improve performance on the racetrack!

What are tire heating blankets used for?

Tire heating blankets bring the tire temperature and thus the tire pressure (irrelevant for sponge rubber tires) and above all the grip  to an optimum levelbefore the start .
→ Goal: Maximum grip directly from the first meter, not only after 1-2 warm-up laps.

What effects do warm tires have?

1. Increased grip
   Rubber becomes softer, the tires adapt better to the track → more mechanical grip.

2. More consistent handling
   Tires behave predictably right from the start, no more slippery "break-in".

3. Faster lap times right from the start
   An advantage especially in short heats or finals (e.g. 5-minute heats).

4. Better tire wear (in some cases)
   Tires wear more evenly because they operate in the optimum temperature window right from the start.

How are they used?

1. Mounting: Tire heating blankets (usually four pieces) are placed around the mounted wheels.

2. Switch on & select temperature:   40-80 °C is usual, depending on tire type, route and outside temperature.

3. Heat for 20-30 minutes before the run: This distributes the heat evenly to the tire core.

4. Optional: Apply tire gripping agent (additive) beforehand: This is often combined with the blankets to increase the effect.

5. Remove and drive immediately before starting: Work quickly so that the temperature does not drop immediately.

When are tire heating blankets particularly worthwhile?

• On-road touring cars (1/10 electric, nitro) → Very common

• Stock classes (less engine power) → The extra grip helps when accelerating out of corners

• Low-grip carpet or cold outside temperatures → Critical, as cold tires hardly build up any grip

• Sponge rubber tires (Nitro Onroad 1/8 & 1/10) → Standard

Less relevant or prohibited: Usually unusual in the offroad sector (buggy, truggy) or not permitted according to the regulations.
