Schumacher Mi10 3D Bumper for Avalon Vortex Body (1)
This front rammer was developed specifically for the Avalon body. The Avalon has taken touring car racing by storm – however, its long front end requires a significantly larger rammer to provide the best possible support at the front.
The rammer is 3D-printed from plastic, making it an alternative to the traditional foam rammer. Its lattice structure makes it extremely light yet flexible: it yields under impact rather than breaking, and then springs back into shape.
3D printing or foam?
The 3D-printed rammer retains its shape over many races and is specifically tailored to the contours of the Avalon. The traditional foam rammer absorbs more energy on impact, but becomes permanently deformed in the process and needs to be replaced more frequently.
