Legacy Front Axle Conversion Kit – Eclipse 6 (U9615)

With the Legacy Front Axle Conversion Kit, you can upgrade the Schumacher Eclipse 6 (LMP12, 1:12) to a front axle featuring a classic, simple design with kingpins. The focus is on consistent performance and more controllable handling.

Thanks to the simplified design, maintenance requirements are significantly reduced, and according to Schumacher, the silicone oil damping on the kingpins remains consistent for a long time until the next service. The front axle responds more naturally and predictably, providing the driver with greater feedback – this builds confidence and gives a more direct feel for the car. The Schumacher team used the conversion kit at the 2026 Masters of Foam and achieved good results there.

Installation notes

• Ball joints and M3x6 pan-head screws are taken from the Eclipse 6 kit.
• Use at least one 0.5 mm washer under each ball joint.
• Use the supplied camber strut. The camber struts from the Eclipse 6 are not compatible with this design; alternatively, part number U8480 is suitable.
• Apply a few drops of 12,000 cSt silicone oil (not supplied) to the top of the kingpins until it emerges from the cross-drilled holes, spread it over the bolt and fit the wheel carrier.
• Ground clearance and suspension travel (droop) are adjusted using spacers: spacers above the wheel carrier increase ground clearance, whilst those below do not affect it. Adding more spacers at the top or bottom reduces suspension travel. Default setting: 2 spacers per side.

The conversion kit is compatible with the front spring set (U4845) and the mass damper springs:

• U4842 – Front springs, black – soft (2)
• U4843 – Front springs, silver – medium (2)
• U4844 – Front springs, gold – hard (2)
• U7489 – Front springs, white – ultra-hard (2), included in the conversion kit
• U8130 – Mass damper springs, red – medium (2)
• U8131 – Mass damper springs, green – hard (2)
