The WC Edition of our A12 FlexBumper is the final version of the test part that Max Mächler used in his IFMAR World Championship winning A12! With an increased width of 18mm and an increased depth of 4mm, we have achieved significantly better body support, which is key when using the popular ultralight versions.
In fact, this new type of bumper takes on the role of front body height adjustment as the body rests completely on the bumper itself! With the three included spacers (1.0mm / 1.5mm / 2.0mm), it's pretty easy to achieve the perfect height adjustment. Just place them under the bumper, directly on the carbon bumper plate of the A12!
In our testing in Europe and the United States, we found that these three different thickness spacers are suitable for setting the correct body height by either using them individually or stacking them on top of each other. We printed the thickness in different places on each spacer to make it quick and easy to count the total thickness when looking at it from above!
Comparison of the weight:
MXLR FlexBumper = ~5.0g.
Original bumper = ~3.5g.
Installation / mounting instructions:
We recommend removing the SH1.5mm aluminum spacer between the C1205 Suspension Plate and the C1204 Bumper Plate. This allows the bumper plate to sit higher and is less susceptible to friction.
Use the different height printed spacers to adjust the height of the FlexBumper and therefore the height of the front bodywork.
