Hobbywing XeRun XR10 Pro G3 160A ESC - Black
Product information "Hobbywing XeRun XR10 Pro G3 160A ESC - Black"
The Hobbywing XeRun XR10 Pro G3 sets new standards for competition speed controllers and raises the performance level to a new level with many innovative features. Compared to its predecessor, the XR10 Pro G2S, the controller is now equipped with a frameless and improved fan, and the height has been reduced by 2 mm thanks to an optimized LCG design, resulting in a lower centre of gravity and improved vehicle balance. In addition, the XR10 Pro G3 has an integrated data logging module, which can store up to 19 data records of 20 minutes each and eliminates the need for a constant connection to the OTA Bluetooth module.
In addition to the integrated data logging, the G3 comes with many interesting new features! The freewheeling function ensures more efficient cooling by noticeably reducing the operating temperature compared to its predecessor. And the new Disc Brake Mode enables extremely precise and linear braking force control, making the braking feel consistent and controllable across all speeds. With over 44 programmable parameters and two setting levels, the characteristics can now be adapted even better to any situation.
Features:
- Integrated data recording (OTA/LCD is required for evaluation)
- Optimized temperature control
- Disc brake mode for precise brake control
- 44+ parameters
- Softening 2.0
- LCG design and optimized cabling
- Built-in reverse polarity protection
- optimized for modified competitions

Electronic speed controllers in RC model making - more control, more driving fun
Electronic speed controllers (ESC for short - Electronic Speed Controller) are the heart of modern RC models. Whether it's an RC car, airplane, helicopter or boat - speed and handling cannot be optimally controlled without a precise speed controller. In this article, you will learn everything you need to know about the functions, advantages and selection criteria of electronic speed controllers for RC model making.
What is an electronic speed controller?
An electronic speed controller controls the speed of the electric motor in a remote-controlled model. It receives signals from the receiver and regulates the power transmitted to the motor accordingly. This allows you to accelerate, brake and (with bidirectional controllers) reverse with precision.
Modern ESCs also offer numerous additional functions such as
-
Soft start for smooth starting
-
Brake modes (e.g. drag brake for crawlers)
-
Motor timing for fine-tuned performance
-
LiPo undervoltage protection for battery safety
Brushed or brushless - which type of speed controller is the right one?
With electronic speed controllers, a distinction is made between brushed controllers for brushed motors and brushless controllers for brushless motors.
Brushed ESC
-
Simple construction
-
Less expensive
-
Suitable for beginners
Brushless ESC
-
Higher efficiency
-
More power and durability
-
Ideal for ambitious pilots and racers
Important: Brushed and brushless systems are not compatible with each other. Therefore, make sure that the speed controller and motor are compatible.
Important criteria when buying an ESC
When buying an electronic speed controller for your RC model, you should consider the following aspects:
-
Current carrying capacity (amperes): Must match the power consumption of the motor
-
Number of cells (S): Compatibility with the battery used (e.g. 2S, 3S LiPo)
-
Operating mode: Forward / reverse / brake - depending on the intended use
-
Programming: Many high-quality ESCs can be individually configured via program card or software
Conclusion: The right speed controller makes all the difference
A high-quality electronic speed controller noticeably optimizes the handling of your RC model . Whether you are looking for a powerful brushless system for high-speed racing or a sensitive controller for scale models - with the right choice, you will get the most out of your vehicle.
Tip: Look for brand quality from proven manufacturers such as Hobbywing or Cayote to ensure long-term fun and reliability.
