Awesomatix A12X 1:12 Electric Pan Car Kit
Awesomatix A12X 1:12 Electric Pan Car Kit
Update on changes to the kit from 11.09.2025
C1201-X is replaced by C1201-X3 --> Servo plate for A12X & A12WC with additional holes for SRT M11 servo.
AM1204X-ST is replaced by AM1204XT --> The AM1204XT chassis plate has the same slim, narrow design as the steel version AM1204X-ST, but is made of a special, strong and more flexible alloy. It offers similar flex characteristics as the AM1204WC aluminium chassis and delivers improved performance with reduced weight. At only ~40 g, the AM1204XT is about 29 g lighter than the steel plate chassis.
ST112 is replaced by ST112-6L --> 4 ST112-6L screws are required to mount the motor mount and the left bulkhead of the AM1204XT.
SPR12XR-C1.0 is replaced by SPR12XR-C1.0L --> This version is 0.7 mm longer in order to achieve a greater preload when setting GUD (Gap Under Damper) when the AM1204XT or AM1204-WC chassis plate is used in an A12X car.
P13-4 is replaced by P13XH. --> Further optimised for less play and more reliable engagement.
Awesomatix article description
With the A12WC and the A12X, Awesomatix introduces not one, but two new 12-car kits.
The first is a refined version of the earlier A12 kit, which was first introduced during the 2020 World Championship and with which Awesomatix team boss Max Mächler was recently crowned IFMAR Spec World Champion.
The A12WC kit incorporates the proven A12 concept where the rear suspension action is controlled by the flex of the chassis itself, supported by a pair of side coil springs that also act as an additional rear spring.
The chassis shape is new and has been refined to further improve flex distribution while integrating the rear strut.
The latter kit, labelled A12X, has a slightly more traditional 12 scale design with the side and rear springs acting independently. This is achieved by a built-in coil spring in the rear damper and new side coil springs positioned at the very front of the chassis. The new steel chassis lowers the centre of gravity even further and enables a narrower and slimmer overall design.
Common to both kits is a new engine mount design fitted into the chassis that further improves the vehicle's torsional rigidity and makes it virtually bulletproof in the event of a hard crash, a new battery plate coupled with a new front suspension plate that allows for a greater choice of rollover centres, new left and right rear hubs that allow for more accurate and reliable mounting for a wider choice of wheels, and two new tools for precise adjustment during the build and fine-tuning of the vehicle setup.
In addition, both kits retain the same front-end concept as the original A12, with quick camber adjustments through rotating steering columns, coil front springs and multiple front damping configurations controlled by O-rings and/or different grease viscosities, while front caster adjustments are achieved through optional steering columns.
Awesomatix A12X features:
- New rear/side suspension system with side coil springs and independent centre rear coil spring that do not interfere with each other. The vertical stiffness of the rear nacelle can be adjusted without affecting the lateral roll stiffness. The lateral roll stiffness of the rear nacelle can be adjusted without affecting the vertical stiffness.
- New battery plate - updated for the installation of different roll centre sets and for the new side suspension system.
- New steel chassis with integrated rear strut. The steel material ensures a particularly low centre of gravity and reduced width.
- New lightweight steering columns.
- New engine mount and left bulkhead with "keyed" mounting bolts to prevent slippage in the event of a collision.
- New rear damper with "built-in" rear spring.
- New rear strut that works together with the new rear spring unit.
- New front suspension plate - updated for the installation of different roll centres.
- New left and right rear axle hubs with increased contact area for more stable wheels.
- Three new tools in the kit - 6/7mm spanner, 1.5mm Allen key and rear suspension adjustment gauge.
Awesomatix A12WC Features:
- Same proven rear/side suspension system as the A12.
- Updated side spring mounting system and new body/spring retainers for easier switching between narrow and wide side spring positions.
- New battery plate - updated for installation of different roll centre sets.
- New aluminium chassis with updated flex distribution including the rear strut.
- New lightweight steering block supports.
- New motor mount and left bulkhead with "keyed" mounting bolts to prevent slippage in the event of a crash.
- New stiffer and stronger rear strut.
- New front suspension plate - updated for the installation of different rollover centres.
- New left and right rear axle hubs with increased contact area for more stable wheels.
- Two new tools in the kit - 6/7mm spanner and the rear suspension adjustment gauge.
