Yokomo Master Speed MS2.0 1:10 touring car kit with carbon fibre chassis
YOKOMO product description
If we had to choose one performance requirement for a touring car, it would be "speed", but countless factors contribute to achieving it. The real proof is not just in making the tyres spin faster, but in the speed that can be achieved during a race on the track.
The Yokomo MasterSpeed MS2.0 consists of 90% new components and its balance takes into account road conditions and tyre grip. The low centre of gravity and the mass balance increase the cornering speed of the vehicle enormously!
The Yokomo MS2.0 offers drivers instant speed and a sense of fulfilment at the end of a race.
New features:
New front and rear bulkheads
New front shock tower (low mount)
New rear shock mount (active)
New 42T front spool and 42T rear tapered spool
New centre drive gear
New servo mount (low centre of gravity)
New top deck (long version)
New lower wishbones (long version)
New, long upper wishbones
New front and rear aluminium steering knuckles
YOKOMO - a passion for RC cars
Yokomo is one of the most traditional and influential brands in the RC car sector, especially in 1:10 electric touring cars. Here is a compact summary of its history and significance:
Origin and development
-
Founded: Yokomo was founded in Japan in the 1970s and initially established itself with off-road and on-road models.
-
Entry into touring cars: In the early 1990s, Yokomo began to focus intensively on the newly emerging class of 1:10 electric touring cars.
Milestones
-
1993-1995: Collaboration with Masami Hirosaka, one of the most successful RC drivers in the world. Together with him, Yokomo developed some of the first competitive touring car chassis.
-
Mid/late 1990s: The Yokomo YR-4 and YR-4M2 models set new standards and made the brand internationally recognised.
-
2000s: With the MR-4TC and later the BD series (Belt Drive), Yokomo focussed on belt drive, which had a lasting impact on the scene.
-
BD series: From BD (Belt Drive) to BD5, BD7, BD8 and BD11, the platform has been continuously refined over the years and is one of the most popular competition chassis.
Success in racing
-
Yokomo has won numerous IFMAR World Championships and EFRA/ROAR titles, in particular through drivers such as Masami Hirosaka, Naoto Matsukura, Ronald Völker and Christopher Krapp.
-
Especially in the 2010s, Yokomo dominated the scene with the BD series, often in direct competition with Tamiya, Xray and Awesomatix.
Today
-
Yokomo continues to be one of the most important manufacturers in the 1:10 electric touring car sector.
-
With the current BD12 (as of 2023), the brand offers a high-end chassis that is used worldwide at the highest level.
-
In addition to touring cars, Yokomo also produces drift and off-road models, but remains inextricably linked to the racing scene through the BD series.
👉 In short: Yokomo is considered a pioneer and perennial favourite in the field of 1:10 electric touring cars. From the first competitive chassis in the 1990s to the ultra-modern BD generations, the brand has played a key role in shaping the development of this class and remains a permanent fixture in international RC racing with numerous title wins.
