Super-thin and therefore lightweight bodies have been in vogue for some time now.
Understandable, because they drastically improve handling.
However, these wafer-thin polycarbonate bodies also have a disadvantage => they deform at full throttle or in windy conditions - and the risk of "body jamming" in racing is also very high.
There have been many attempts in the past to add stability to the bodywork - using 3D-printed or deep-drawn parts inside the bodywork...
All these attempts had one thing in common: they were far too heavy, thus negatively affecting the handling and negating the advantage of a lightweight bodywork.
The MXLR CBRS - Carbon Body Reinforcement Set is the best way to protect the bodywork from unwanted deformation or check jamming.
The 1.0mm thick carbon rods are very strong and ultra light.
They are supplied in 100mm lengths to be as versatile as possible. You can easily shorten the rods if you wish.
A 100mm long rod weighs just 0.1g
The rods are attached to the inside of the bodywork using the ZAP GOO adhesive supplied. The tip of the glue tube allows the glue to be applied very carefully and precisely - even in hard-to-reach places.
Only a few drops are needed per rod. We recommend leaving the adhesive to harden for 6-12 hours. Only use the adhesive in well-ventilated areas and do not inhale vapors (protective mask recommended).
Possible areas of application:
- Stiffening the front of a 1:12 car body to prevent it from touching down at top speed.
- Stiffening the rear of a car body ("anti-tuck"). Simply glue two pieces into the bumper. Ideally glued in as a triangle (see gallery pictures)
- Stiffening of the roof area (windshield transition) on a touring car. Simply glue in a strut in the longitudinal direction.
- Stiffening the side wall. Possible in different directions depending on the shape of the bodywork.
