Introducing our brand new, innovative rear body mount/upper bulkheads for the XRAY X4'26!
These body mounts offer several advantages to your '26 chassis: they lower the centre of gravity, allow for better and finer height adjustment and can be adapted to the flexibility of the rear bulkheads.
Lower centre of gravity
The standard body mount is 4 mm thick and quite heavy. Due to its construction, it also sits higher on average than our 3 mm thick body mounts made from stiff carbon fibre. Our body mounts therefore lower the centre of gravity and also the weight over the rear of the vehicle.
Finer height adjustment
If you use the included "vertical body mounts", you have endless height adjustment possibilities by using our carbon quick-adjust spacers or even regular shims!
Adjusting the flexibility of the rear bulkhead
The ability to adjust the flex of the rear bulkheads is a great tuning tool to optimise rotation both on and off throttle. By using our soft and hard flex struts or no strut at all, you can adjust the balance of the car in corners.
No strut=maximum rotation (for small, tight tracks with lots of hairpins)
Soft strut=balance between rotation and stability (for medium, tight tracks)
Hard strut=most stable option (for smoother tracks with strong acceleration)
We also offer 4 different versions that allow for a cleaner and more durable installation depending on your preferred link/arm configurations.
Type 1: Same geometry as the original upper bulkheads for use with the kit's standard upper control arms.
Type 2: Same geometry as the original, only for use with upper control arm wishbones These parts simplify the installation of the control arm wishbones.
They have integrated M3 inserts into which the optional XRAY #362651 4.9 mm male ball studs can be screwed, or by screwing an M3x8-M3x10 mm grub screw into the kit's female ball studs to create a male ball stud.
Type 3: 1.5mm longer link, only for links with tie rod wishbones Using these links lengthens the link slightly so that it is not as long as the Hillbilly model, but not as short as the kit setting - a happy medium!
These have integrated M3 inserts into which the optional XRAY #362651 4.9mm male ball studs can be screwed, or by screwing an M3x8-M3x10mm grub screw into the kit's female ball studs to create a male ball stud.
Type 4: For Hillbilly (long bulkhead mounted connection, for turnbuckle style connections only Using the INOV8 Bulkheads reduces weight and lowers the centre of gravity!
