Mugen Seiki MTC-2 Bypass Shock Housing (2)

With the “Bypass Shock Body” from Mugen Seiki you can change the damper characteristics of your MTC2 touring car. The shock body has the same dimensions as the original standard part from the kit – but there is one significant difference on the inside of the shock bodies. In the lower part of the shock body you find small machined pockets all around which increase the inner diameter and the distance to the piston. This will make the damping softer in this part of the shock as more oil can pass the piston around the outside. When the pockets are passed by, the shock body gets tighter again and makes the damping a little harder.
Overall you can call it a two-step damping system which is initially softer and gets harder as soon as the piston has passed the cutouts. On track it will make the car feel less nervous, especially when driving over bumps or over curbs. It is a very interesting tuning option and you should give it a try on your MTC2.
