Introducing our brand new HARD carbon chassis for the Awesomatix A800R!
This particular HARD version chassis features a much stiffer weave of carbon that greatly reduces flex. The flex of this carbon chassis fills a large gap between a standard carbon chassis and an aluminum chassis, making it the optimal choice for medium to high traction asphalt and low to medium traction carpet! Often track conditions can lead to the need for an "in-between" solution where an aluminum chassis is too stiff and makes the car too easy to drive and slower, while a carbon chassis is too aggressive or difficult to drive consistently. The stiff carbon chassis is the perfect middle ground!
The new Awesomatix A800R features a uniquely shaped chassis that provides plenty of ground clearance and roll. It's also very symmetrical front and rear. In our testing, we found that the rear profile is wider than the front to create a front flex point that provides great responsiveness and very confidence-inspiring stability. The sides of our new SlimFlex chassis are narrow but straight, with a nice conventional but narrow profile front and rear. This has proven to be an improvement over the standard chassis and results in a more nimble front end, with great cornering speed and rear end predictability.
As always with our SlimFlex chassis, the diff and coil pockets have been cut out and not cut through. This provides better aerodynamics, keeps the pulleys cleaner from debris picked up from the track, and also eliminates some unwanted flex between the dividers.
All of these features combine to create a chassis that we believe offers better turn-in and cornering speed, while keeping the car easy to drive and stable in the rear!
Our chassis are precision CNC machined and countersunk in Australia from high quality 3K 2.2mm carbon.
