Awesomatix A800 Flexible Ball Stud Set (2)

The FBS set consists of two ball heads. It is a unique design of a dynamic acting ball stud for suspension.
The O-ring inside the encapsulated steel housing allows the actual ball to move in any direction. In addition, the O-ring provides the necessary damping effect.
This can be beneficial under certain conditions, such as low grip or on very special asphalt/carpet surfaces.
It also reduces the peak load on the suspension parts during crashes.
Depending on where the parts are installed in the vehicle, there are different effects, which we describe below.

In principle, the Ball Studs can be used at any point on the vehicle where the normal ST24 is used.

After testing with our team drivers, we recommend the following use of the FBS:

#1: Front upper top link FR (rear) position.

It adds more "caster flex" effect, which means that the front suspension settings change more under load.

The effect is similar to using softer material for suspension parts, but without using softer and weaker material!

On the race track, the car can generate more grip on the front axle, which helps when turning into the corner.

This is recommended for low to medium grip conditions.

#2: Front AM14 Steering Arms.

Calm steering input and remove some sharpness. Can be a good option if the car is too nervous.

Also acts a bit like an extra servo saver and absorbs some of the force when hitting obstacles.

But beware --> It also takes away some precision and the actual steering feel is/may be very different!

#3: Rear AM23 steering arms.

By using the FBS on the rear steering arms, the toe-in of the rear wheels is more dynamic, depending on the force applied to the wheel.

Under forward acceleration, it opens slightly and reduces the toe-in angle, providing more straight-line speed.

When cornering, the outer wheel creates an additional toe-in angle, which provides extra grip at the rear.

INFO:

The height of the FBS corresponds to the height of a normal ST24 ball stud with 3.5mm washers!

MOUNTING TIP:

Awesomatix T02 is strongly recommended!

Step1: Mount ST141 with 6,5mm wrench on the vehicle and tighten it

Step2: Slide the OR1.8-90 into the cavity of the ST141

Step3: Put some grease/lubricant on the lower shaft of the ST24F and push it through the O-ring

Step2: Install the nut (ST134) on ST121 and tighten it with a 7mm wrench.
