Con questo calibro è possibile regolare l'escursione delle sospensioni di veicoli stradali in scala 1:10 e 1:8. Per questo sono necessari spessori da 20 mm. Il calibro ha un campo di regolazione da -3 a +10 mm.
L'escursione della sospensione è un parametro di configurazione molto importante, perché definisce la distanza che la sospensione può percorrere meccanicamente durante il rimbalzo. Questo aspetto entra in gioco in tutte le situazioni in cui il veicolo sposta il peso. Quindi dal posteriore all'anteriore in frenata, dall'anteriore al posteriore in accelerazione e, naturalmente, da un lato all'altro in curva.
